Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our offices in Europe or North America, working as part of our Data Risk team within the greater sphere of the firm’s global Cyber and Data Risk function.
McKinsey's Cyber and Data Risk function raises awareness of cyber security and data risks, best practices, and program governance. Our team focuses on delivering relevant risk management capabilities, shaping the firm’s strategy and approach to important data risk management initiatives.
You will work directly with the senior manager of data risk to design, standardize, and implement new experiences for data management in our firm. You will also engage and work collaboratively with various colleagues across functions on a local and global level.
What You'll Do
You will identify and analyze data risks, help design and implement solutions that support our data management policies, and shape the foundation for a 'compliant by design’ experience across the firm’s assets that handle client and internal data.
You will collaborate with a diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders, driving strategies to ensure relevant data principles are reflected in policies and procedures and operationalized in firm technologies and processes. You will implement and execute processes so that identified data risks are both understood and managed effectively. You will proactively address cross-functional issues and set policies and guidelines for the firm (e.g., data management and retention policies), and partner with legal, compliance, technology, cyber risk, and other functions across the firm.
You will oversee planning and execution of our ‘compliant by design’ objective and related data risk implementations. You will collaborate closely throughout the process to ensure stakeholders and teams have the resources, requirements and information needed to scope and deliver quality solutions on time. You will ensure implementations include empathy for the user by ensuring a consistent, efficient, and friendly experience across firm assets. You will also be focused on a specific sub-area within the Data Risk team, e.g., assets and solutions.
In addition, you will help to build awareness of data management policies, process, and relevant risks within the firm. You will lead and coach risk management colleagues in the Cyber and Data Risk function to deliver a best-in-class risk program. You will also lead problem solving workshops with our teams and our senior stakeholders, being mindful of the specific context, capabilities, and needs of each.
Finally, you will measure the impact of our work through data and insights to ensure we are delivering on our value promise to the firm and our colleagues.
You will also serve as a professional development manager (PDM) to more junior colleagues, providing developmental support and guidance, as well as driving evaluative review processes.
