What You'll Do

You will build and maintain one of GCI’s flagship products using your analytical, research, and problem-solving skills within the Commercial Banking Insights or Payments Map teams.

On the Commercial Banking Insights team, you will work on multi-client studies to help over 30 financial institutions understand and improve their revenue performance, leveraging the largest and premier commercial banking datasets in the market. You will interact with multiple banking partners and clients learning about their business, tracking the performance and uncovering improvement opportunities. 

On the Payments Map team, you will deliver McKinsey’s flagship payments research product and help clients shape their payments strategy via best-in-class research and modeling techniques. You will serve as a central source of payments industry knowledge and expertise, identify topics of interest in payments space, draft research, and leverage quantitative and qualitative data analysis. You will also identify consumer/commercial usage patterns of payment methods to provide actionable insights and recommendations and develop reports and presentations for clients.

In all, you will develop one of the most sought-after and business-critical skillsets—product management and development—while operating in an agile analytics lab.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or master’s student expecting to graduate between December 2023 to June 2024, with less than 2 years of work experience
  • Experience with a coding language, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), and statistics is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Capable of driving an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project
  • Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis
  • High degree of independence, resourcefulness, and creativity in solving problems and data analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver objectives to tight deadlines
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility, and patience in a fluid environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
