Who You'll Work With

You will be based in Waltham, MA as a member of McKinsey's Advanced Industries (AI) practice.

As part of the Advanced Industries practice, you will join a global team consisting of over 60 professionals spanning the topics of aerospace & defense, automotive & assembly, and advanced electronics. This team sits in a variety of global locations including Germany, United States, India, Japan, Korea, and China. Each member of the team is aligned to a set of domains (or topic areas) where they have an opportunity to deepen their expertise and serve clients as well as our client service teams. 

For this role, you will get the opportunity to focus on topics within the advanced electronics - semiconductor (AE) domain. This includes helping consulting teams and clients in all areas of the semiconductor value chain, such as capital equipment manufacturers, fabless companies, integrated-device manufacturers, foundry companies, as well as adjacent players.

What You'll Do

You will be a thought-partner to consulting teams and clients on a wide range of topics in the semiconductor domain. 

In this role, you will leverage leading data sources, receiving coaching from senior members, and having access to proprietary McKinsey perspectives. Additionally, you will conduct market analysis and support problem-solving efforts with various consulting teams. You will synthesize findings by preparing McKinsey-formatted end-products such as quantitative models, memos, and slide presentations. In this role, you will have opportunities to participate, and even lead, entrepreneurial and innovative projects within the practice. 

Together with with your research colleagues around the world, you will proactively develop and codify knowledge on new, emerging topics that are relevant to McKinsey and our clients in the industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1+ year of professional experience is preferred
  • Experience in semiconductors or related industries is a plus
  • Experience in a market research is a plus
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Good understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effectively collaborates in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
  • Strong professional attitude and service-oriented mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
