Who You'll Work With

You will be based in Cairo, Doha or Nairobi office and you will report directly to Regional Proposal Manager and join our enthusiastic and driven global Proposal Team and network of proposal professionals. You will be involved in strategic discussions as you partner with consulting teams and the sector and practice leaders to expand the firm’s impact in the region.

What You'll Do

You will serve as a key thought partner with practice leaders and consultants to expand the firm’s impact within EEMA, by playing a key role in generating proposals in support of new engagements. You will focus on developing high-quality compliant and compelling proposals in cooperation with the client service teams (80%) and developing and maintaining knowledge for use in proposals (20%). 

You will understand the objectives and requirements of the RFP and formulate a view about what it will take for McKinsey to win the procurement and create workplans and align resources to complete the work of drafting high-quality proposals on time, ensuring end-to-end coordination and delivery of proposals. You will facilitate reviews with Risk, Legal, Contracts, and other firm functions as needed and orchestrate communications/ visual media specialists to produce high-end proposals. 

You will write select elements of proposals (e.g. CV’s, case studies, value proposition, context, and background based on secondary research), review proposals at different stages of the drafting process, and help the subject matter experts make course corrections where necessary. This includes challenging the proposal development team and Partners when appropriate, you will ensure technical compliance of proposals – prepare and own submission of all technical compliance documents (e.g. registration certificates). You will work with leadership to support the preparation of financial proposals

You will lead the creation and maintenance of a repository of ready-to-use ‘standard’ LOP ingredients, ensure client development best practices are codified

and lead preparation of high-end LOP materials including ‘new-age’ documents, CV books, case studies, videos, references library.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in public sector proposal development; preference for experience at large professional-services firms 
  • Extensive experience with complex Public and Social Sector Procurement processes and procedures
  • Experience with entire proposal development process, including the demonstrated ability to produce compliant, responsive and compelling proposals 
  • Ability to interact collaboratively with consultants, forging effective relationships across our client service teams 
  • Ability to work with subject matter experts and leadership to develop non-technical sections of the proposal content including past performance, staffing, resumes, and executive summary 
  • Superb organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Language proficiency in English and French or Arabic required
