The New School

Responsibilities:

I am looking for one or two students to assist with the layout and copy editing of a print catalog with essays.

Design and Layout Assistant (October – December) – 30 hrs

Ideally, a graphic design student who can assist me with layout and image editing for a book project.

Copy Editor (November – December) – 30 hrs

The catalog will contain two essays (1 × 1000 words, 1 × 2000 words) and three interviews. Two of the interviews will need to be transcribed from audio. All the text in the catalog will need to be copy edited. I will assign additional hours if needed.

Hourly Range: $15 – $19

Minimum Qualifications:

Design and Layout Assistant (October – December) – 30 hrs

• Proficient in Indesign
• Knowledge about preparing PDF files for print output
• Knowledge of preparing images to embed in Indesign for print output

Copy Editor (November – December) – 30 hrs

• Skilled at copy editing essays
• Able to transcribe and edit two audio interviews

Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy and requirements.
