Post Doctoral Associate

An exciting Post Doctoral Associate training opportunity is available within the lab of Dr. Evgeny Pavlov at NYU College of Dentistry's Department of Molecular Pathobiology. The group's primary research focus is on the investigation of cellular energy metabolism and mitochondrial function. The primary expertise of the laboratory is in studies of mitochondrial ion channels and calcium signaling using electrophysiology and imaging approaches. If needed, access to other experimental techniques and animal models can be provided through collaboration with other laboratories.

The Post Doctoral Associates (trainee) is expected to develop a research program that will provide the foundation for a future independent research career. This position is funded by an NIH grant, but the trainee is encouraged to apply for independent career development funding.

We are seeking creative, productive and highly motivated individuals who want to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and diverse research environment and gain experiences in developing independent research projects. The Department has a strong Postdoctoral development program which facilitates the trainees advancement toward success.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $90,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must:

  • Posses a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology.
  • Have excellent experimental, scientific writing and organization skills.
  • Be able to communicate scientific material and work well in a collaborative environment. Good oral and written communication skills are musts.
  • Not be more than 4 years from their degree.
