Ancestry is looking for a talented Senior Data Science Engineer to join our Data Science Engineering team. The Data Science Engineering team works with our data scientists to design and build production data pipelines for external and internal customers. If you enjoy developing the systems used to process massive volumes of data quickly and reliably, resulting in meaningful discoveries for our customers, this is the job for you.

You will...

  • Partner with data scientists and development teams to deploy models as part of production systems
  • Work with stakeholders to design data architectures and interfaces 
  • Write new data pipeline jobs to retrieve, process and validate training data
  • Create tooling and automation to enable MLOps best practices throughout the system
  • Create infrastructure for our services using our Infrastructure as Code (IAC) framework
  • Mentor other engineers on software engineering best practices

Who you are...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • 5 or more years related experience
  • Solid understanding of MLOps Principles
  • Expertise in Python
  • Experience with cloud computing, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience working on or managing projects involving large scale, multi dimensional databases, complex business infrastructure, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with large scale data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark and MLflow
