The Systems Administrator - Desktop Support will be responsible for installing and configuring network equipment and all computer systems to ensure proper maintenance and security. Overseeing the installation of new Hardware or Software, administering upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to computers, devices, and software. 

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting problems with computers, printers, network devices, or other network components to ensure optimal performance
  • Build & Upgrade computers for employees
  • Engage 3rd party vendors for equipment repairs
  • Install and configure applications for end-users
  • Track and react to incoming user requests via help desk system [FreshService]
  • Educate new and existing hires regarding multiple applications, technologies, and platforms
  • Lifting and transporting of equipment of various weight and bulk
  • Supporting 35 – 40 users across multiple entities/business lines
  • Implementing and maintaining network servers and other hardware devices used in networks
  • Monitoring network security to detect unauthorized access or other security breaches
  • Setting up new computer equipment and software applications, including e-mail accounts, operating systems, and other applications
  • Monitoring network activity to ensure proper functioning of network components and equipment
  • Maintaining an inventory of computer equipment such as servers and workstations, along with their specifications

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Experience: minimum 2 years of Systems Administrator experience and general user support in a corporate environment
  • Self-Motivated, hard-working, readily adaptable to changes
  • Critical Thinking
  • Eager to learn and apply new skills
  • Ability to maintain professional attitude and composure during stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Flexible to work a variety of hours with minimal notice, including on-demand and/or odd hours
  • Office is in New York City, occasional travel to Florham Park NJ or Palm Beach FL. May be required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Technologies
  • Administration of Active Directory, Office365, Windows, Teams etc.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware (Desktops, Laptops and Mobile Devices)
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
