DevOps Engineer (EMS Admin II)

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer who will be responsible for the upkeep of the SCADA/EMS systems and meet our stakeholder needs. If you have a solid background in both development and operations and are familiar with Linux, C/C++, Python and have passion to work in a control systems environment and think out-of-the-box, we would love to talk with you

You will be trusted to:

  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and be able to translate to Use cases
  • Working on ways to automate and improve processes.
  • Ability to test and examine code written by others and analyze results
  • Ensuring that the systems are safe and secure against cyber threats
  • Identify technical problems and develop/propose update or fixes.
  • Building and setting up new tools and infrastructure.

You qualify with:

  • Six or more years of experience in the respective focus area. 
  • A degree(s) in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

Knowledge of EMS/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications or prior work experience in a mission critical or controls environment.

  • Working knowledge of Python, Linux Shell, C/C++
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux systems and system admin
  • Good knowledge of Software engineering principles
  • Good knowledge of git and git workflows
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Collaborative team spirit
  • Knowledge of the latest software technologies/frameworks like Kafka, Splunk, Jira, Ansible. JSON, XML is a plus.
