Group/Division

SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

This is an exciting role within our New Product Introduction (NPI) team, focused on delivering new products right first time into Global Operations following our Product Lifecycle (PLC) process. With this role there is a focus on delivering manufacturing solutions to our Manufacturing teams and suppliers through developing procedures and equipment.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Supporting design activities through manufacturing process development and specification
• Fault finding supported with root cause analysis
• Reviewing and amending drawings, assembly instructions and BOM structures
• Providing Supply Chain Technical guidance in support of product outsourcing initiatives
• Running multiple projects working with all stakeholders across our Operations and Engineering Teams
• Part of cross-functional team completing risk assessments of manufacturing assembly and test processes, ensuring all environmental, health and safety standards are met
• Review and approve Engineering Change Orders
• Creating and maintaining 2D drawings with AutoCAD Electrical in conjunction with Enovia PLM - Training will be provided to enhance skills if required

• Is Degree qualified in Engineering discipline or HND/HNC plus relevant experience
• Is familiar with 3D CAD Solid Edge/Works - desirable but not essential
• Is a self-starter and able to self-manage and prioritise their workload
• Has an understanding IPC/WHMA-A-620 for wiring and harness assemblies and IPC A-610H for electrical assembly - desirable but not essential
• Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines both autonomously and as part of a team
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
