Job Summary:

The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1975, is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Center's mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training, and outreach.UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Gillings School of Global Public Health seek a full-time Project Coordinator to support research on HPV vaccine communication. The Project Coordinator will work closely with an interdisciplinary research team led by Dr. Noel Brewer and join a productive and fun team in his Health Cognition and Behavior Lab, https://noelbrewer.web.unc.edu/. Note this can be a hybrid work position only requiring 2 days working in-person.This Project Coordinator will support a new Center on Improving Provider Announcement Communication Training (IMPACT) led by Dr. Noel Brewer. The Center's goal is to improve HPV vaccine communication and uptake among adolescents by expanding the impact of the Announcement Approach Training developed by Dr. Brewer. The training teaches providers to effectively recommend HPV vaccination and address parent hesitancy to increase vaccination.One role will be to support research to expand the role of the full primary care team including nurses in HPV vaccine recommendations, optimize standing orders, and evaluate an intervention in a clinical trial. They will directly liaise with internal and external study partners participating in the trial clinics to assess inclusion criteria, distribute intervention and workshop materials, and coordinate standing orders support meetings. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to assist with protocol and survey development and data collection.A second role will be to support our Center's Administrative Core that provides overall guidance, administrative support, and fiscal management. The role includes coordinating the program's operations such as progress reports to funders, managing budgets, planning and overseeing coordination of in-person and teleconference Integration Committee meetings, annual program retreats, coordinating our External Advisory Board, developing a center website, coordinating a diversity, equity, and inclusion working group, and providing support and direction for all involved in the program.Finally, the Project Coordinator will support administrative tasks for Dr. Brewer such as coordinating meetings and travel, updating his CV, and maintaining his professional website.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
