Job Summary:
Develop & Maintain web presence through a variety of mediums. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will update and maintain the departmentsâ?? websites and will manage its social media. This position will create newsletters, printable materials, and advertising handouts to further promote the Department of Neurosurgery and its services.1. Department News and Communication Platforms (25%)a. Work to disseminate Bi-monthly Department news via listserv, and post to appropriate social media accounts (i.e. Twitter, linkedIn, etc.). Serve as liaison to the UNC Health Media/Marketing team. Keep team apprised of departmental news to promote. Examples: Gather information for marketing purposes; Coordinate media interviews with physicians; provide ideas and research for Health Talk articles; share social media posts.2. Department Intranet Dashboard â?? (20%)a. Work with ACA and Business Managers to create, improve, and maintain web content that is targeted to Faculty and Staff via Department Portal. Will included University and UNC Health resources developed by administration.3. Maintain Department Website (25%)a. Position will create, improve, and maintain web content that is targeted to reach the appropriate users through a user-friendly design. Duties will also include monitoring web traffic and metrics to help identify priorities, and reviewing external public information about our sites. Examples: Create and organize content for Department sites, Hospital sites, and Find a Doctor; periodic review of Google Analytics; research external web sites; create templates to use across Divisions, learn new technologies as needed, create graphics and adjust photos; updates to Google search and maps.4. Maintain ADRC Website â?? (30%)a. Managing the external internet presence for the Duke/UNC ADRC. Coordinate the development and updating of the ADRC web site. Procure graphic and video content for the ADRC web site employing professional artists and videographers. Coordinate with professional translators to generate mirrored pages in Spanish. Design and develop printed materials for ORE core activities as well as for the Administrative Core coordinated outreach to the Neurology, Geriatrics, Psychiatry and Primary Care provider community in NC notifying them about the center, its subject recruitment and community engagement activities. Marketing requests for proposals (RFPs) for Developmental Projects and REC scholars as well as ADRC sponsored events to the research communities at Duke and participating institutions in the UNC system (Chapel Hill, NCCU, UNC Pembroke, ECU and NC State).
