Spread over 281 acres, the campus offers a sense of community and belonging-â??a place where faculty and staff feel supported, take pride in the universityâ??s mission, and are devoted to excellence in teaching, learning and research, and to developing leaders who make a difference in their communities.Manage, inventory, and maintain equipment and technology in Music Department Facilities including the Music Resource Center (MRC), Moore Hall Auditorium (MHA), classrooms, and practice rooms. MRC: computer hardware and software installation, upgrade and license management, troubleshooting, workstation design, and student/faculty training. Working knowledge of a variety of software programs including spreadsheet, database, word processing, as well as music notation software. Inventory control for fixed asset system, includes work with instrument loan contracts and related follow-up. Inventory and maintain musical equipment, as well as classroom and auditorium equipment. MHA: Technical consulting and training supervision, maintain lighting, audio, video, and other needs. Classrooms: maintain and inventory equipment, including technology and furniture. General: select and order various speaker systems, amplifiers, controllers (keyboards), patching systems, and other audio components.Liaison with Facilities Operations: complete work orders for maintenance and repairs on music facilities; pick up surplus and scrap items; work with motor pool (gator and golf cart) including keys, trailer, batteries, etc; work with carpenters to oversee installation of rudder strips in doorways, pictures, white boards, and cork boards; monitor Moore Hall and Music Annex HVAC system; work with Safety Office to see that music facilities maintain compliance in all safety-related issues; work with painters to oversee maintenance of classrooms, common areas, and faculty offices; work with electricians; vehicle requests for off-site performances; work with locksmith and maintain key inventory; work with Facilities Contracting when outside contracting is used for maintenance of music facilities, including the paperwork and interface with the outside personnel. Liaison with DoIT for computer and software issues and upgrades.Music Performances and Festivals: setup for performances, festivals, rehearsals, move band instruments, percussion equipment, choral risers, sound shells, music stands, chairs, tables, and conductorâ??s podium; occasional Saturday events and travel.Supervision of Student Workers: supervise six Hawk Assistants and six student Music Department workers, including selection and time sheets. Organize student workers in the audio and video recording of approximately 30 recitals/concerts per semester.
