The Assistant Dean of Students for Case Management is a resource, advocate, and liaison for a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, parents/families, and community partners that support and contribute to student resiliency and success at Carolina. This position will serve as the lead case manager for the Student Care Team (the multi-disciplinary team that assesses student of concern referrals and coordinates assistance and support for students exhibiting concerning behaviors) and may serve as the designee for the Associate Dean chairing the team in their absence. This position is highly collaborative and plays a lead role in non-clinical student case management developing and implementing both long- and short-term response plans to address a wide range of student experiences and concerns. Examples include but are not limited to basic needs insecurity (i.e., housing, food, etc.), physical and mental health, adjustment concerns, student safety, academic, personal/family crisis, and integration into campus life. The Assistant Dean of Students for Case Management will also lead specific department initiatives and associated assessment efforts related the ongoing development and maintenance of a comprehensive resources including referral agencies, offices, departments, individuals, and other relevant resources for students. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Students and works collaboratively with on- and off-campus colleagues and partners and other members of the Dean of Students team to support and implement the programs and services within the entire portfolio. The position will serve on the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) which is the Student Affairs on-call student crisis/emergency team, support high interest event response, and is designated as both a Campus Security Authority and Responsible Employee.
