The Senior Director for Programs and Advising in the Study Abroad Office at UNC-Chapel Hill is a senior position reporting to the Associate Dean for Study Abroad (Associate Dean) and plays a key role in the development and implementation of study abroad and other global engagement initiatives. The Senior Director is a member of the office leadership team and has a wide scope of supervision, management and programmatic responsibilities. The Senior Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the program director and advisor teams in the Study Abroad Office (SAO) and for providing strategic guidance and expert knowledge to the Associate Dean on all programming and student advising. The Senior Director acts with delegated authority in the absence of the Associate Dean for Study Abroad programs, advising and related student emergencies. The position supervises a team currently consisting of four program directors, two program coordinators, four advisors, and Study abroad oversight of an Exchange Advisor shared with UNC Global and work closely with staff and faculty across the university.
