Summary of Position

The Manager, Distribution Marketing maximizes Starz Entertainment (STE) subscribers and revenue through collaborative implementation of partnership marketing campaigns by advising on marketing strategy and point of sale initiatives. The role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills, as well as the ability to analyze marketing and sales data to develop insights and make innovative recommendations leading to increased revenue and subscribers. The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to take full ownership for the execution of assigned projects, working both independently and with a team. A sense of ownership, collaboration and intensity are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the distribution team to assist in the development and analysis of marketing plans to ensure revenue and subscriber growth and expansion of company products and/or services with distribution partners (MVPDs, vMVPD, OTT and Mobile)
  • Maintains constant awareness of the direction and manages status of all projects, including anticipating needs and conflicts that unexpectedly evolve
  • Oversees creative development for all assets utilized by partners to promote STE across their various sales channels and platforms; manages curation and distribution of assets to internal teams
  • Manages creative development of point-of-sale marketing assets, including call center collateral, website updates, training videos, etc. Collaborates with point of sale team on messaging and creative strategies
  • Works with internal creative teams and Distribution team to ensure STARZ creative utilized by partners accurately reflects STARZ corporate values and commitments to diverse representation
  • Exhibits strong communication skills by successfully providing counsel to Distribution/ STE Sales Team on proper tactical mix/creative direction, executing that direction with creative teams, and proactively relating project status to stake holders
  • Along with Senior Director, Distribution Marketing, oversees all STE Distribution events including vendor negotiation/selection, pre-production, event execution and post-event lessons learned
  • Liaises with the public relations department to secure partner participation at STE events, as well as facilitates talent requests including reads, appearances, interviews and social media integrations
  • Assists in managing contractual marketing funds and provide guidance to distribution team as to the utilization of marketing funds on assigned accounts
  • Assists in development and maintenance of annual/quarterly distribution presentation and quarterly partnership presentations
  • Collaborates on monthly budget review, reconciliation, and planning in tandem with the partnership marketing coordinator, accounting and finance 
  • Monitors and analyzes marketing campaigns and projects and make recommendations for improvements and better results
  • Uses relevant data, tools, and resources to think creatively and make informed decisions

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing preferred
  • 3-5+ years related marketing experience, preferably in cable, satellite, telecommunications or entertainment industry
  • Ability to effectively review distributor created materials and communicate feedback clearly
  • Must be account service oriented with high level of responsiveness and attention to detail 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships 
  • Understanding of industry/competitive environment and knowledgeable of distribution goals and product packaging 
  • Proficient in creating strategic initiative, managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, and meeting deadlines through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with client services, project management, and agencies 
  • Proven communication skills – oral, written and presentation
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Ability to learn proprietary software solutions.
