Description

 

Provides financial leadership in support of the organization's finance goals. Leads and manages finance projects or department, working collaboratively with executives. Directs efforts to ensure highest customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Functions: • Serves as a finance expert to executive leadership on projects and initiatives with strategic importance to the organization. • Provides leadership and direction in accordance with the overall strategic direction of Finance. • Defines and frames complex multi-dimensional issues and develops time tables/processes for decision making. • Applies thorough understanding of the organization's key business processes to effectively anticipate and address the longer-term implications of decisions/actions. • Manages all steps of projects or processes and adjusts planned approach as required. • Drives for changes in work products and processes that will improve efficiencies and effectiveness. • Communicates information strategically, delivering results oriented messages. • Fosters strong customer service orientation within department that is evident in all interactions. • Fosters strong results orientation within department by motivating staff and holding them accountable to meeting customer needs and organizational goals. • Manages staff through direct or a matrix reporting relationship. • Fosters a positive and proactive work environment, emphasizing respect for individuals, high standards of quality, innovation and team work. • Facilitates the ongoing learning, well-being, professional satisfaction and development of staff through training, work assignments, increased  responsibility/autonomy and mentoring. • Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis. • At any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions, or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status. Such changes are generally implemented only after notice is given to affected employees.

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

Experience • Minimum eight (8) years directly related financial experience with analytically challenging projects. • Minimum three (3) years of general management experience.

Education • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field.

License, Certification, Registration • N/A

 

Additional Requirements: •  Demonstrated ability to lead professionals through influence and collaboration.

• Knowledge of one or more of the following: accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, financial analysis, healthcare economics, information systems, organizational development, health care delivery systems, project management or new business development.

• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry.

• Capable of thorough, systematic research and analysis and organized documentation of work.

• Able to manage several projects simultaneously, complete projects efficiently and on deadline, sometimes with necessarily little lead-time. Influential and effective in both written and verbal communication skills (negotiation, listening, and collaboration).

• Experienced at presenting.

• Excellent skills in complex analytic problem solving, strategic planning, program development, project management, change management and group process.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in staff development, team building, conflict resolution and group interaction.

• Direct operational experience.

• Proficiency with Microsoft office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum three (3) years of experience with KP data sources. • Master's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field strongly preferred. • CPA strongly preferred.
