Description

 

The Strategy Execution Consultant (SEC) plays a key role in the success of consumer and group growth and retention by partnering with Strategy Managers, Sales, Account Management, Marketing Communications, Actuarial, Sales Operations and other stakeholders to facilitate execution and implementation of strategic initiatives and go-to-market activities. SEC combines analytical thinking, business knowledge and program management skills to develop the framework to execute and monitor strategic plan and go to market activities including but not limited to: 1. facilitating the prioritization and schedule development of strategic initiatives; 2. managing the execution of strategic initiatives; and 3. developing and managing annual go to market plan.

 

 

Essential Functions:

• Partners with internal stakeholders to build cross functional strategy and go-to-market implementation teams, facilitates identification of implementation scope, manages implementation and communicates progress for strategic initiatives to drive timely execution and obtain business results.

• Converts strategy into action by defining the business gap in a more actionable, quantifiable approach. Prioritize and frame initiatives into SMART goals to close gaps. Develop high level project roadmaps and plans. Attain sponsorship engagement and functional partner commitment and alignment.

• Manages multiple projects and assignments (that are cross-functional and multi-disciplinary), serving in a project leadership capacity. Assembles projects teams, collaborates on individual responsibilities, develops project schedules and is responsible for determining project team resources needed.

• Facilitates decision making by analyzing strategic alternatives, developing recommendations and facilitating Senior Leadership decision making. Communicates complicated matters in a simple structured way to senior management.

• Provides consulting support to, and acts as, a "thought partner" with other project managers and organizational leaders as required. Recommends strategies and develops plans that satisfy client-customer needs and senior leadership.

• Develops collaborative relationships with key business owners and with other consulting resources in the region to help drive and lead cross functional project efforts

• Maintains cohesion, focus, and productivity among diverse project team members. Helps team members think outside the box.

• Recognizes, and works effectively, in complex, political, and ambiguous situations. Uses organization and personal influence strategies to encourage desired behavior among those involved to reach goals of project.

• Develops effective communication strategies. Updates the entire organization, especially those affected by any changes. Keeps internal stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and barriers.

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in business consulting, with demonstrated results.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in business, health care or a related field required.

License, Certification, Registration

• N/A.

• Strong results-orientation with demonstrated project management and change leadership skills. Proven ability to determine key business issues and develop effective action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives.

• Understands or experience with annual go-to-market activities.

• Proven ability to synthesize and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses and distill into actionable recommendations.

• Logical strategic/systems thinker who can break work into component parts and identify patterns and trends.

• Demonstrates creativity in identifying and implementing solutions to complex issues is required.

• Proven track record of leading/managing initiatives required.

• Use analytical skills and judgment to solve problems with limited information.

• Have experience executing through cooperation with other groups with no direct reporting relationship to position.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong facilitation skills. Tailors communication style to engage audience and

convey the rationale for decisions.

• Excellent coaching, mentoring and team development skills. Models collaboration in building plans and strategies to enhance

organizational clarity. Adapts management style to enable optimal team performance.

• Experience with having a heavy complex workload and short deadlines yet still ensuring work quality.

• Can effectively cope with ambiguity, can decide and act without having the total picture, doesn't have to finish things before moving

on and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Familiarly with Microsoft Office tools required (Project,

Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

• Personal Development - Actively seeks and accepts challenging opportunities that will help meet identified developmental needs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project management and or process improvement experience preferred.

• Experience guiding executive level conversations.

• Experience with critical project initiatives in a health care environment preferred, or a management consulting environment with a

focus on health care clients.

• Knowledge and experience using strategic planning tools (Kaplan Norton Balanced Scorecard, Porter's Five Forces, SWOT

analysis, etc.).

• MBA or master's degree in health care or a related field preferred.

• Excellent leadership, consulting and influence skills.

• Understands management of trends, issues, and conditions nationally and within the local markets, as appropriate.
