Job Summary

The LNP Network Engineer (NE) role is responsible for the Complex Porting of customers to the Optus Network including Direct Line, Multiline, VoIP, Evolve Voice and Evolve DL, Multiline NG services. The role has an Engineering component where the Porting Engineer manages feature changes on the Optus DMS switches. Pre-and post port testing is carried out between the Porting Engineer, other carriers, field technicians and the end customer

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the various network elements and customer network configurations within the Optus network;
• Coordinate with multiple IPTs, Field Groups, CFU’s and CFU Interface teams to ensure all assigned customer services are tested in accordance with agreed procedures and standards and that customer commitments are met.
• Maintain an up to date understanding of the work flows, procedures and support systems within a changing Network Provisioning environment
• Governance / Drive / Comply with task due dates whilst maintaining a high quality of work output, and coping with fluctuating order volumes maintain a consistently high customer experience
• Work closely with non-technical groups within Optus (Sales, Logistics, CFU interface teams, Programs group) to ensure that provisioning documentation is clearly understood and accurate
• Identify risks associated with delivery of services and develop a plan to manage risks

Experience and Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in Telecommunications
• Experience with the operations of telecommunications systems such as CS2K, DMS, Alcatel IN, DNAWEB
• Knowledge of the LNP Code
• Professional/technical skills
• Sound administration and organisational skills/experience;
• Able to contribute to the production of work instructions and job aids
• Able to coach and train other team members
• The ability to exercise independent judgment and work unsupervised;
