Reporting to the State Sales Manager, as a BDM will need to be energetic with a can-do attitude to exceed business targets and execute strategies to grow market share in the 50 – 300 employee segments. The role will also involve working closely with a designated Solutions Consultant to drive whole-of-business sales and extend market reach.

You will be highly motivated, upbeat with a can-do attitude, you will drive to exceed business targets and implement strategies to grow market share. You will be a true hunter, with a customer centric approach, be able to develop, implement, and improve tactical segmentation to support the acquisition, lead the development of a balanced and sustainable pipeline to deliver long term sales goals.

A proven track record of success in SMB sales, face-to-face relationship selling whilst prospecting new customer opportunities is vital.

Success in this role will be evident through the achievement of business targets such as new connections for mobiles, mobile broadband, fixed voice/data. The BDM must have the ability to effectively differentiate from our competitors in the experience that Optus can provide customers, and to engage with Senior Executives across a range of SMB organizations

Based within our Macquarie Park Campus, we are seeking two BDMs with a consistent track record of success in sales, face-to-face solution selling,

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver upon agreed sales targets in acquisition of new Business customers
  • Manage the development of a balanced and sustainable pipeline to deliver long term sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with internal and external partners
  • Implementation and execution of successful sales strategy
  • Conduct regular meetings with State Sales Manager to review activity, pipeline, and performance against targets.
  • Ability to action and manage all leads and cross sell when opportunity presents.
  • Driving growth in new product streams to new and existing customers

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of Business Development experience in a Business-to-Business sales environment
  • Experience in operating in both relationship and transactional sales and marketing environment
  • Sound commercial and eye for business with experience in positioning value propositions to customers
  • Understanding of mobile, fixed line and data solutions within the SMB market – desirable.
  • New business / strategic sales experience within the Telecommunications highly regarded
  • The generation of new business through effective prospecting methodology.
  • Proven sales track record in achieving growth through acquisition strategies
