The Customer Account Representative Trainee is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in agriculture, where you will be responsible to assist in procuring canola and pulses from a defined client base within a specific area, while also educating and delivering information on grain marketing and contract programs.

The role:

• Your responsibilities would include assisting in buying grain over the counter or by contacting customers by phone executing programs and meeting budgeted grain volumes and margins. 
• You are expected to work with customers and the facility to coordinate the movement of grain related to facility requirements. 
• Through ongoing coaching you will develop and maintain effective business relationships with existing and potential customers, with a goal of increasing awareness of customer/business needs and drive.
• Throughout your role you would be expected to develop an understanding of the grain business including risk management and financial reporting. 

The ideal candidate:

• The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• A successful candidate would be personable and excited about working with a diverse group of customers and displays honesty and integrity in their work.
• Efficiency in MS Office and experience utilizing a CRM database as well as having a valid driver’s license is required.

The Customer Account Representative Trainee role is a temporary training opportunity intended to prepare the successful candidate for a future Customer Account Representative role with Viterra. The length of the training program will vary based upon individual; however, is typically 12 to 18 months in duration. Once the Customer Account Representative Trainee has successfully completed the training program, the Trainee will be required to apply for Customer Account Representative vacancies throughout Viterra’s Country Operations group. As such, candidates must be willing to relocate. More information in regards to the Customer Account Representative Trainee role and the requirement to relocate will be available at time of interview.
