Job Purpose: 

Cyber Security Engineer requires a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) with excellent communication skills for active collaboration with associates and various external teams. It will actively participate in projects to deploy and enhance Cybersecurity technologies as well as support projects as Cyber Security SME. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and be able to work with little supervision.

This Cyber Security Engineer role includes all aspects of the squad mission; but primarily has following focus areas:

  • Hands-on, technical role. This role will assist with projects including setting-up, testing, and piloting security technologies and helping deploy them to production environment.
  • Support activities as SME required to deliver projects and initiatives
  • Work and support data center initiatives (cloud and on-prem) providing security oriented expertise.
  • Will assist escalations as SME and will provide operational documentation for daily tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project activities related to deployment of security solutions and network security (on-premise and cloud)
  • Enhance and perform upgrades of Information Security infrastructure systems
  • Post-deployment monitoring and testing activities
  • Responsible for development and implementation of new or currently owned/managed solutions and service provider relationships
  • Support security audits, risk analysis, and assessments
  • Ensures compliance of the security controls software version, policies and rules.
  • Provide and maintain consistent and accurate operational documentation, process workflows and configurations
  • Participate in IS/IT Security projects as assigned
  • Follow formal change control processes and create appropriate documentation for changes to prevent or minimize outages
  • Define and support implementation of automation and orchestration scenarios
  • Integration of new sources for security log management, archiving and retention according to security policy.
  • Configure logs parsing for Data Quality Assurance
  • Define and improve baselines for the secure configuration and operations of assets.
  • Contributes in the IT security related aspects of legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and enforce adherence to corporate standards, processes and procedures

Qualifications/Education - Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with IT field of study required.
  • 6-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Other Education / Certifications: selection of security and technology certifications and/or equivalent proven work experience
  • English advanced.

Critical Skills:

  • Datacenter migration and system provisioning
  • VMWare incl. vCenter management & operations
  • Network Security and firewall management (Cisco, Checkpoint, Azure)
  • Cloud technologies and processes (Azure/AWS – implementation of security controls)
  • Knowledge of foundational security principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Automation and orchestration
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software and networks
  • Operational knowledge of system and network security engineering best practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD and Intune
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and troubleshoot
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and disciplined, with excellent time management skills

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Previous work experience in a Security Operations Center or as SME in one or more critical skills area
  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISA, GIAC, Security Plus)
  • Scripting experience – Python, PowerShell, Regular expressions, etc.
  • Cloud (Azure/AWS) and Office 365 Security Configuration Experience
  • Web application firewalls
  • Experience with implementing IT security configuration standards
  • Proven hands-on experience with Security solutions such as Intrusion Prevention, EDR/XDR, Proxy/Web Filter, Encryption, PKI

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as business requires.
  • Some travel required.
