About the role

Several opportunities (on both Permanent and Contract basis) to join the Optus Data Platform Management team. We are on the lookout for Solution Architects with previous experience in Data (On-prem and Cloud) related solutions.

Your duties will include the following:

• Contributing to the implementation of Data technology roadmap and industry patterns with the aim of deriving analytics from substantial volumes of data
• Delivering, managing, and governing Solution Architecture implementation patterns, frameworks, standards and best practices for the Data technology and solution eco-system and its integration with other systems.
• Data Ingestion for reporting and analytics needs with considerations for ingestion & consumption use-cases, data sources, data quality, transformations, reporting, analysis models.
• Working with Solution Designers and others for delivery of projects and Solutions. Develop reusable framework for batch and real-time ingestion and transformation of data.
• Working with the business in identifying data access patterns and building out relevant Data (On-prem and Cloud) and analytical solutions
• Providing a mechanism and a platform for business users to discover patterns in data and hypothesis proving
• Implementing new solutions as part of platform implementation strategy, and work out plans to rollout these solutions to support business needs and growth.

About you

• Previous experience as an Architect/Designer/Engineer specializing in Data (On-prem and Cloud) related solutions.
• Experience in Data Warehousing, Data Management and Data Architecture & Design (On-prem and Cloud)
• Experience with popular Data (On-prem and Cloud) tools (not limited to):
• Cloud platform & Cloud native tools
• Data management
• Spark
• Scala
• Python
• StreamSets / Apache Nifi
• Cloudera and /or Hortonworks toolset
• Kafka
• Associated supporting technologies such as Unix Scripting
• JVM tech/language
