Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager for its Jefferson City, MO location. This role is responsible for leading Supply Planning and Inventory Management in the local factory.

Your responsibilities

  • Owner of the site procurement process. Works closely with Planning, Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to deliver materials on time to support production. Manage and optimize a spend in excess of $250 MUSD. Along with Hub SCM, manage supplier relationship and performance
  • Owns the inventory or NWC check book for the local unit. Establishes and maintains an inventory management processes including raw materials, WIP, finished goods and sales in excess of invoicing (project units) in line with Group/Division/Business Unit instructions. Is accountable for inventory within the site, and driving inventory optimization projects within the site
  • Provides visibility of supply capacity and local supply objectives into the SIOP process. Provides feedback into SIOP process of site’s ability to support the demand plan. Convert the SIOP production plan into supplier forecasts and communicate to Hub SCM and Suppliers in support of the plan
  • Provides visibility to plant management on critical supply issues in a timely manner and collaborates with key stakeholders like HUB sourcing team, planning, engineering and operation to mitigate risks and help in maximizing revenue
  • Leads/contributes to cross-functional initiatives for optimizing material availability, supplier performance, inventory, resource utilization, and forecast accuracy. Uses lean 6 sigma tools whenever applicable. Collaborate with other units in the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Provides local leadership for the development of best practices in planning systems and integrated ERPs
  • Leads local procurement function and ensures (with HR Manager support) that local purchasing teams are properly organized, staffed, and skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both Hitachi Energy and the employee

Your background

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12 + years of experience, with 5 or more in a manufacturing Environment. Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Operational Planning Experience preferred
