For our power semiconductor device group in the BiMOS department, we are looking for an outstanding R&D (Senior) Engineer with strong interpersonal skills and a considerable track record in semiconductor devices. The Research and Development projects focus on the development of cutting-edge MOS-technologies for energy efficient power devices using wide band gap semiconductors, with a strong emphasis on SiC technology. Covering all facets of power semiconductor processing, our interdisciplinary research approach extends from specific device design over processing in a state-of-the-art R&D cleanroom facility to electrical characterization in an application-driven system environment. Your responsibilities

  • You will contribute to, acquire and lead R&D projects and define successful strategies in the area of wide bandgap power semiconductors
  • In your role, you will evaluate and improve chip designs and process flows to fabricate power semiconductor devices that meet the required performance, yield, and reliability resulting from applications
  • Your responsibilities will be to identify and secure critical intellectual property and define process platforms for volume manufacturing
  • You will perform and coordinate reliability testing of power semiconductor devices with the goal of improving device robustness under harsh environmental conditions
  • You will be able to take charge of publishing project results in journals, at conferences and trade shows
  • You maintain and develop a close dialog with customers, universities and research institutes

Your background

  • Your basis is a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a similar field with excellent knowledge in semiconductor device physics
  • Beyond that, you bring several years of experience in academia or industry in the field of semiconductor technology development
  • You are versed in project management including skills in team leading, reporting, risk management and optimization of timelines
  • You are fluent in English
  • You are a team player and a strong communicator, you will surely convince us with your presentation skills as well as your ability to establish a successful cooperation
