The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Your responsibilities
- Preparation of FACTS Plant Layout (Yard Arrangement – Layout & Plan, Electrical HV / EHV Clearance Check).
- Preparation of Civil Task (Civil input) Drawings (Foundation, Conduit, Trench and other civil Requirements).
- Preparation of Civil Conceptual Design.
- Preparation of FACTS Control Building Layout (Electrical Cubicles, Thyristors, Pump skid Arrangement).
- Preparation of Cable Trench & Conduit Layout.
- Preparation of Grounding & Lightning Protection Calculations and Layouts.
- Preparation of Section Drawings / Erection Key Diagrams (Detailed Installation & Erection Drgs of FACTS Plant).
- Preparation of Detailed Steel Drawings (For Manufacturing / Procurement & Installation).
- Preparation of Installation Drawings (Grounding Connections & Electrical Connections).
- Preparation of Busbar system data, Ampacity, cantilever & Magnetic Field Calculations.
- Preparation of Civil Foundation Load Calculations (Load input to Civil Design).
- Steel Design Calculations (Member Size, Foundation Bolt).
- Heat & Ventilation System Data Preparation (Input to HVAC design).
- Purchasing Steel, Al, Connectors etc.
- Review of Equipment Diagrams (Reactor, Capacitor, SA, LA, CT, PT, CB, Isolator, WB / Insulator, Cubicle, Cooling Skid etc.).
- Review of Tender / Bidding Specification.
- Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background
- A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 2-3 Years in Substation or FACTS or HVDC Design Experience OR 4-6 Years in EPC or Engineering Consultancy or Plant modeling in full.
- Experience in project engineering and time schedule & monitoring.
- Experience in Basic & Detailed Design Engineering with EPC, Consultancy Design Environment.
- Experience in Project / Tender BOQ Estimation & Costing and Budget Control by Design Optimization.
- Experience in SolidWorks OR Other 3D Modelling using Plant Design Tools (Smart Plant / PDS / PDMS - AutoCAD, Micro Station) or Assembly Design Tools (NX, ADI).
- Strong Knowledge / Expertise in concept of Sketch, Model, drawings.
