The Role

Staff Front-End Engineer at Cedar, you will get the chance to work with a smart, diverse, thoughtful, and experienced cross-functional team on a platform that is scaling extremely rapidly and help solve an important problem that affects tens of millions of patients annually. This opportunity in the Post-Visit Pillar will allow you to leverage your knowledge and experience in a high-impact way.

The Post-Visit Pillar owns the entire patient experience for our core post-visit product and is made up of teams building products that empower our patients as users. As a Senior/Staff Front-End Engineer, some of the initial projects you will be working on include:

  • Modernizing our patient application to fully use modern technologies (Next.js, React, GraphQL)
  • Building out a design system to ensure a consistent user experience and improve developer efficiency
  • Working with Product Design and Product Management leaders to create a seamless product development experience for PMs, designers, and engineers

As part of these projects, you will:

  • Shape the new frontend architecture for our flagship product
  • Design and build beautiful and engaging front end applications
  • Improve quality, performance, and stability of existing applications by leveraging modern technologies
  • Collaborate with other engineers to analyze and evaluate various technical approaches to challenging problems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and evangelist for our front-end technologies and processes
  • Train and mentor other engineers

About You

  • You have extensive experience as a front-end developer (10+ years)
  • You bring deep knowledge of Javascript/TypeScript and React (bonus if you have GraphQL, RxJS experience)
  • You have experience working with Design Systems (even better if you have built one)
  • You know CSS back to front (understanding utility-first frameworks such as Tailwind is a plus)
  • You have experience with server-side rendering (especially experience with Next.js)
  • You are a strong collaborator and value an inclusive environment with diverse perspectives
  • You have a passion for mentoring other engineers and evangelizing the technologies you work with
