We are seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our growing Financial Operations team! This individual will assist with the payroll processing function, as well payroll compliance and period-end reporting, including annual audits. In addition, this person will be a major contributor to various projects and will work cross-functionally with other departments and partners both inside and outside the organization.

Our ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and organized and will also help improve the payroll process function. Additionally, this is a new role that would be perfect for someone who wants to make an immediate impact on Cedar’s Financial Operations functions, take the lead in improving processes and efficiencies, and continue to grow and expand their skill set with a high growth team!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, calculate and audit multi-state payrolls according to established procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll, both Bi-Weekly and Semi-Monthly (back-up processor)
  • Process off-cycle payments
  • Interpret garnishments, child support orders, and state and federal tax levies
  • Promptly execute all pre- and post-processing audits to validate payroll accuracy and promptly make any necessary adjustments so that employees and other key stakeholders have an error-free payroll experience
  • Aid Payroll Manager with various tasks, included but not limited to special projects
  • Train New Payroll Team Members as the department grows
  • Frontline person for employee payroll inquiries
  • Backup for the preparation of payroll estimates, journal entries and quarterly statements for the Finance Department
  • Record-keeping Compliance including filing, archiving, and storing of payroll records
  • Ensure accurate entry of employee salaries, reported hours on timesheets, commissions, bonuses, severance pay, garnishment requests, and deductions and withholdings for benefits, taxes and 401(k) contributions, and calculating leave and disability payments in conjunction with our providers
  • Participate in the execution of implementing a new a HRIS/Payroll solution
  • Manage multiple ongoing assignments and deliverables with a focus on communication to remain committed to being positive and rejecting mediocrity

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years at a senior level
  • Experience with HRIS/Payroll Implementation is a must
  • Must be able to process payroll independently without supervision
  • Experience with multiple Payroll and HRIS systems, such as ADP, UltiPro or Workday software. Strong ability to learn new systems
  • Highly organized and proactive with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Cross collaborative - both internally across the organization and externally
