Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking a HUB Components Engineer for its Hub Engineering team. This role is responsible for collaborating with the transformer factories across the NAM HUB and other stakeholders to drive the adoption of standard components. This role also Provides technical/application support to different stakeholders within the company. Offers solutions that are cost-effectively and in accordance with Industry & quality standards, and safety requirements. This position can be in Jefferson City, MO, South Boston, VA, Crystal Springs, MS, Bland, VA, or Alamo, TN.

Your responsibilities

• Support Supply Chain in the development of new suppliers, identify opportunities for cost reduction based on technical requirements and data analysis, support them on finding potential substitutions.
• Collaborate with the Engineering teams to facilitate the integration of standard components within their factories and design tools.
• Supports the development of data base for standard components
• Leads the communication channels for support on application guidelines, and parts creation. Defines and documents materials and parts specifications
• Recommend enhancements to drawings and existing specifications.
• Collaborates with GEC team members for mapping and analysis of information
• Supports the definition of process flows for components and standards handling
• Health, Safety and Environment (HSE): Ensures that Group and local health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives are implemented

Your background

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Materials and 5+ years of experience. Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi ABB Power Grids in the United States.
• Broad knowledge of components for Distribution and Power transformers, Transformers in general, Industrial Electrical industry, Utility or Substations.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Creo or other 3D modeling Software, Microsoft office, SharePoint, Windchill, SAP
• Familiar with ANSI/IEEE, UL, CSA for transformers and components.
• Experience with Transformers, Industrial Electrical Industry, Utilities, Transformers Components for Pad and Power Substations is a plus
• Experience with Standardization of parts is desired
