You as R&D engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business-based Bangalore, you will be responsible for our growing R&D team.

Your responsibilities

  • Drive adoption of “shift left” for cybersecurity accountability within your product team(s) moving cybersecurity as early and often in the development as practical
  • Individual contributor in the R&D team leading the product security efforts for assigned products
  • Day to Day responsibility to ensure assigned products are meeting Hitachi Energy Minimum Cyber Security Requirements
  • Helping product team to comply with IEC 62433-4-1 at a minimum (other standards as appropriate)
  • Conducting risk assessments, code reviews and application security analysis or other security validation of products
  • Coordinating with the PSO and Hitachi Energy’s center for application testing to ensure timely testing and corrections in the release cycle
  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats and vulnerabilities to ensure the appropriate security controls and mitigations are built in
  • Primary point of contact for vulnerability and incident handling for assigned products
  • Subject matter expert for engineering, tendering and service teams as it relates to cyber security of assigned products
  • Works with the Product Security Officer for assigned product to lead each release of the product through the appropriate clearance steps and ensure they appropriately documented
  • Work with the Product Security Officer to identify security improvement in each release of the product

Your background

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 5-years of experience
  • 2 years experience in software development
  • Attacker Mindset: Real Passion for breaking things to make them stronger
  • Strong understanding of security standards, guidelines and best practices for building highly resilient hardened software systems (e.g., NIST, CIS, OWASP)
  • Demonstrated expertise in (pick as appropriate) [product/application security architecture, network security, application security, web services]
  • Experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA)
  • Experience interpreting customer software security requirements at the request of and with the assistance of the Product Security Officer (PSO)
  • Proficiency in English, speaking and writing
