Brief Summary of Role 

The Senior Functional Consultant is tasked with leading requirements gathering sessions to gain an understanding of our customer's current state processes and technology in the CRM space, and they support the implementation work that follows. They handle our most complex and challenging projects, from the customers they work with to the technical solution complexity, to uncover current state pain points and work with their delivery team to design a future state solution and transpose into user stories. The Senior Functional Consultant is responsible for providing guidance and recommendations as well as sharing best practices across business environments and industries. 

Responsibilities 

  • Build a clear requirement gathering strategy / workshop plan for each customer engagement 
  • Lead discovery workshops; facilitate large audience discussions and present solutions 
  • Perform rapid analysis and decomposition of complex business information into functional requirements 
  • Take ownership of customer processes; analyse and record current state technology and processes 
  • Identify and inventory customer process pain points and gaps in best practices 
  • Organise and drive process reengineering sessions 
  • Create future state processes and requirements 
  • Perform business process modelling, user experience modeling and basic technical architecture diagramming 
  • Synthesize technical and business information and present implementation needs and options confidently 
  • Collaborate with internal team members to advise and present solutions to optimise future processes and solutions 
  • Communicate Salesforce’s capabilities and limitations to customers 
  • Guide customers and advise on potential solutions for optimising the platform 
  • Interpret technical and business strategy roadmaps and apply a detailed technical solution 
  • Build and demo prototypes in Salesforce 
  • Assist and guide customers during UAT 
  • Support and deliver training to specified trainers and end users 
  • Provide go-live support for implementations 
  • Co-ordinate with Project Managers/Program Managers in delivery decisions 
  • Assist in onboarding and mentoring of new hires 
  • Identify opportunities and occasionally assist pre-sales support activities 
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Functional Practice through engagement with the Centre of Excellence and Discussions groups 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Functional Consultant / Business Analyst or similar discipline for a mid-to-large sized organization, or direct consulting expertise leading transformational CRM projects 
  • 3+ years' experience with Salesforce.com configuration and/or custom development across the suite of Salesforce products 
  • Experience implementing the Agile project lifecycles and tools (i.e. SCRUM, user stories, etc.) 
  • Experience as Functional Consultant / Business Analyst on at least 1 £/€ 1M+/Global implementation 
  • Preferred experience in a specific customer vertical/industry/sector 
  • Strong ability to understand customer needs and pain points, facilitate deep discussions, and challenge status quo 
  • Expert presentation and communication skills to both create and deliver top-notch presentations and demos to a broad audience including C-Suite to technical teams 
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and succeed in projects that require you to take ownership and drive workstreams 
  • Ability to take on any project at any stage and make it successful 
  • Ability to influence others as a leader in the Functional role 
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical or Business related area or equivalent combination of similar education and experience 
  • Ability to travel as required

  • Service cloud
  • Community cloud 

Preferred Credentials 

  • Salesforce App Builder 
  • Salesforce Advanced Admin 
  • Any additional Salesforce Certs 
  • Completed Trailheads
