Hitachi Energy is seeking a Planning and Fulfillment Manager for its Crystal Springs, MS location. This role is responsible for leading team of specialists to execute planning and fulfillment strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. Drives planning initiatives to improve customer on time delivery, and lead-time, to be accountable for inventory incl. sales in excess of invoicing and supply plan adherence responsible for reporting resource utilization.
Your responsibilities
- Owns the site supply planning process. Provides visibility of supply capacity and local supply objectives into the Hub/PG S&OP process. Provides feedback into S&OP process of site’s ability to support the demand plan
- Leads/contributes to cross-functional initiatives for optimizing customer on-time delivery, lead-time, inventory, resource utilization, and forecast accuracy. Uses lean 6 sigma tools whenever applicable. Collaborate with other units in the end-to end supply chain.
- Owns the inventory or NWC check book for the local unit. Establishes and maintains an inventory management process including raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
- Ensuring Business Continuity due to Material Availability, Material Inventory Management & Material Planning as well as Quality from external 3rd party suppliers with support from Quality team;
- Meet regularly with critical suppliers for discussion on performance, planning, pricing, and future development activities.
- Monitors the Procurement & Logistics processes and activities. Proactively works to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality, and delivery. Monitors and reports internal and supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues and development actions.
- Manages planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts. Ensures buyers minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Support Category Managers to negotiate agreements with suppliers in order to obtain appropriate quality, lower costs, adequate inventory level, and supplier on-time delivery (SOTD), best terms & conditions for Hitachi Energy.
- Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.
- Provides local leadership for the development of best practices in planning systems and integrated ERPs.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of professional experience in Planning and Fulfillment; OR Master’s degree and 6 years of professional experience in Planning and Fulfillment; OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of professional experience in Planning and Fulfillment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of professional experience in Planning and Fulfillment.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills are required with ability to coach and develop an S&OP or integrated business planning team is required.
- Skills in SAP/ERP, MM, MRP and Purchased modules, Planning module. Plus, Microsoft Excel skills.
- Organized, structured, and result oriented with the ability to maintain the long-term strategic focus at the same time still executing the day-to-day business.
- Preferred experienced in Planning, Procurement, Trade and Logistics processes, Inventory and Material Management, and tools is a plus.
- Prefer recent strategic sourcing experience working with technical components, especially in manufacturing environments (multi-site and/or international experience is a plus).
- Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
