Hitachi Energy is seeking a Transformer Service Specialist (TSS) for the US transformer service organization. This role will be the primary point of contact between Hitachi Energy Sales teams and its customer base. The TSS will report into the Marketing & Sales Manager for US Transformer Service. This position will be home based and require up to 70% travel both regionally and nationally. Candidates must have a valid Drivers License.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with Hitachi Energy sales teams to uncover service opportunities
  • Perform all necessary field service activities, such as the repair and maintenance of electrical components/power transformers, and new installations
  • Provide customer assistance to define work scopes
  • Follow up with customers and Hitachi Energy Sales teams for order closure
  • Provide limited on-site project support/execution and planning to field service crews
  • Compose reports on customer visits, develop outline quotes to solve customer issues, field reports, daily activity reports and other customer specific reports to management/customer in a timely manner
  • Manage job site safety and conduct pre-job/post-job walks

Your background

  • High School Diploma/GED and 12 or more years of experience working in field service
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • 2+ years of experience as a transformer field service supervisor preferred
  • Customer focused with good interpersonal skills, self-directed, positive attitude, ability to manage/influence without authority, willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions/directions
  • Technical expertise in assembly, repairs, refurbishment, modifications, electrical testing, controls, LTCs, and oil testing and processing for power transformers
  • Basic project management skills, able to plan/drive plan to execution, and understanding of financial concepts
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
