Hitachi Energy is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader for its US Transformer Service organization. This role is responsible for driving sustainable and transformational change across US Transformer Services, focused on demonstrated improvement in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost. This role can work from a home office, and approximately 25% travel will be required.

Your responsibilities

  • Partner with Services leadership team in developing and operationalizing the Strategy Deployment process and Operations Center approach
  • Facilitates development of breakthrough objectives, action plans, KPI’s (Bowlers) and leads in development of Kaizen funnel to support the overall deployment
  • Be a change agent and champion of the continuous improvement culture focusing on waste elimination across the organization using lean methods, processes, and tools, such as 5S, Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance, etc
  • Own the overall management of RELEX KPI’s and Improvement projects for the Factory, including driving employee ownership and involvement.
  • Create, manage and facilitate the development of Cost-out and productivity projects across the business to achieve targets
  • Build continuous improvement capability through training and implementation of lean tools and methods
  • Build a coaching culture across the organization with focus on Employee Engagement and Accountability

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience in a process improvement role
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • 5+ years implementing and driving a Lean system implementation across an organization
  • Degree in engineering or related field is a plus, but not required
  • Competencies required include Results Orientation, Strategic Orientation, Teamwork and Collaboration, People Development, Personal Leadership, Change Leadership, Quality Management, Process Management, and Customer Focus
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred
