Within the European Hub in the Transformers Business Unit, we have a vast product portfolio consisting of Power, Distribution, Dry and Traction transformers, alongside components such as bushings and tap changers, and insulation, all used worldwide on conversion of electrical energy. For our Quality fuction, we are looking for an Engineering Quality Specialist, who will be hosted by our Engineering organization and accountable to thoroughly drive quality excellence within the function across Hub Europe, for one or more product lines.
Your responsibilities
- Together with the local Engineering lead, you will develop and roll out a dedicated Quality Management System that ultimately envisages to improve Engineering processes and deliverables.
- The QMS scope shall encapsulate multiple factories within the product line. The activities that shall be contained are described as follows, but they are not limited to:
- Thorough development of DFMEA (training and practical application);
- Identification of critical to Quality Engineering deliverables;
- Enhance the review culture, processes and methods;
- Establish control mechanisms, such as checkpoints, along Engineering processes and secure adherence (evaluation of deliverables, process outputs and throughputs)
- Secure Verification and Validation practices are effective (e.g. Quality Inspection Cards – QICs, Envelope of Confidence – EoCs, test results, etc.);
- Assure Engineering processes are fit for purpose (i.e. deliver the expected output) and secure they are adhered to by all units comprehended in that particular product line;
- Promote internal functional assessments and support internal and external audits.
Your background
- Master degree in Engineering or correlated relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated strong drive and leadership in a Quality Management position in an Engineering environment.
- Minimum of 5 continuous years of relevant experience in quality and a manufacturing process knowledge in general.
- Solid experience with Requirements Engineering processes.
- A previous hands-on experience in an electro-mechanical related industry on a role as Quality Engineer or Specialist is a big plus.
- Expertise on the delivery of effective and accuracte Root Cause Analysis with different methodologies.
- Proven in-depth knowledge of Quality methodologies (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Kepner Treggoe, IS-IS NOT, general problem solving, etc.), processes (e.g. PPAP, APQP, manufacturing processes, SPC, etc.), tools (e.g. fishbone, FTA, FMEA, etc.), international Quality norms and standards.
- Conversational with Engineering standards such as, but not limited to, IEEE or IEC.
- Certified Internal or Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.
- A certification on Quality Engineering (e.g. ASQ – American Society for Quality) is a big plus.
- Handling conflicts, interpersonal & multi-cultural as well as good soft skills (communication, negotiation & influencing), networker, business savvy, capable of holistic view, result and action oriented, resilient.
- Business Travel on a demand basis (< 20%)
- Fluent in English is mandatory. Other languages are a plus.
