The Role

The Principal Consultant plays an active role in client relationship development and supports business development activities You will be responsible for managing and delivering large, complex EHS (HSE) projects and ensure that client satisfaction are upheld through project communications and engagement as well as quality of outputs produced to deliver client service excellence. Being a subject matter expert, we expect you to have prior experience in performing and reporting a variety of Environmental, Health & Safety diagnostics, audits and assessments.

Responsibilities & tasks (not limited to)

  • Adhering to all ERM and client requirements, specifically those related to Health & Safety and governance 
  • Work with ERM’s Partners to develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships to generate new and repeat business with target clients; this will require you to be involved in pricing and project scope discussions and conducting proposals 
  • Lead consulting engagements across the range of EHS projects, acting as ERM’s key point of contact with project clients, delivering excellent value and quality service, you may be leading and managing the delivery for EHS compliance and corporate audits; develop EHS standards, permits, and reports
  • Provide technical EHS assistance to production facilities
  • Engage all levels of an organization in order to achieve the positive transformation of EHS performance
  • Prepare proposals and manage projects remaining mindful of the scope, budget and timing expectations
  • Deliver high quality project deliverables under the supervision and with the support of subject matter experts
  • Support ERM Partners and Project Managers to effectively sell, manage and deliver projects
  • Effectively nurture and build client relationships leading to repeat business
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees
  • Coach and mentor junior staff in their tasks

The ideal candidate

To be successful in this role, you have a client focused approach and is an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. You know the Dutch EHS regulations and have good Dutch and English skills. A self-starter, you have good judgement and the ability to build relationship and collaborating with stakeholders. A degree in environmental engineering, safety, science, or related discipline and French skill would be a plus to your application.
