Hitachi Energy is seeking a Team Manager for its Infrastructure Deployment Design team in the European region. As a leadership position, this role is responsible for the managing a team of professionals on a day to day basis. You will act as a sounding board for the team members looking for direction, and your experience helps to avoid pitfalls in adopting new methodologies and technologies. You enjoy keeping up to date on the diversity of tasks being organized and executed by the self-directed teams under your leadership and using project management skills to help keep things organized. You can write a script to automate a task or write a project plan for complex upgrades. Your communication skills are solid, and you relish an opportunity to talk to other teams about how you and your teams can help them, but you also can sit and listen to team members in one-on-ones, helping them to shape their own future through coaching and training. The role is global in nature and will require collaboration with leaders, managers, and employees across different regions to support and drive the effective functioning of Hitachi Energy's products across regions. Your broad and deep technical knowledge in the Cloud and on-premise deployments will help run Hitachi Energy's suite of applications in the cloud and on our customer's premises.

Your responsibilities

• Enabling infrastructure designs that support 24x7 cloud operations
• Collaborating with team across Hitachi Energy (Security, Product Development, Product Management, PMO) to enable best in class infrastructure architecture
• Metric driven and focused on continues improvement
• Comfortable collaborating and working with distributed teams
• Strong expertise in leveraging a wide variety of open source technologies
• Lead and grow a team of infrastructure engineers to design and implement best in class infrastructure deployment capabilities
• Conduct regular 1:1s with staff
• Mentor and coach staff to improve performance and to develop higher level skills
• Manage performance to ensure team and individuals meet KPIs

Your background

• 3+ years’ experience leading or managing a team of engineers
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to build strong relationships and trust throughout the organization, including with senior leadership
• Experience working with technologies such as Azure Resource Manager, Azure Cloud Native Services (e.g. AKS, PostgreSQL, SQLServer, Application Insigts, Active Directory, Azure Functions)
• Experience using one or more Configuration Management tools such as TerraForm, Ansible, or similar
• Experience working with and automating enterprise scale infrastructure and virtualization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Proven working experience with infrastructure as code building CI/CD pipelines, from a greenfield scenario
• Experience working with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, ELK, and Azure Monitor
• Experience leading a team of self-directed individuals towards common goals.
• Experience with remote software installations to customer on premise location
