The SAP Basis lead is responsible for the management of SAP environment providing technical support and leadership in SAP Basis area. The responsibilities include interacting with external and internal basis support team to configure, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot the project SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis. Build strong working relationship with external stakeholders and should be able to convince or negotiate in case of conflicts.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure that services are delivered with requisite quality, within schedule and budget.
- Manage the SAP Basis operational and support activities and External Vendors inclusive of escalations.
- Responsible to ensure the right system landscape performance, proper patch implementation and operations of the environment.
- Ensuring timely response to all reported issues, prioritization and assignment of resources to address issues. Monitor all implementations, updates, and coordinate with all stakeholders for performance. Drive SAP Basis team to achieve productivity and quality targets within the established timelines.
- Ensure the system landscape and upgrades/patches are up-to date as well as system health. Recommend, develop and assist in the implementation of best practices and accurate solutions.
- Establish processes, tools, standards and checklists to effectively manage the Basis activities and to carry out effective stakeholder management. Responsible for oversight of technical strategies relative to creation, implementation, and expansion of SAP environments.
- Support the effective delivery of the SAP Basis activities in line with available budgets and appropriate timescales.
- Manager the External Partner SAP Basis counterpart ensuring business continuity and performance of the system environments as per defined processes. Manage escalations with internal technical stakeholders as well as coordinate with External Partner/Service Manager.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in the field of IT or equivalent SAP experience.
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on and leadership experience supporting SAP on-premise and cloud platforms; SAP S4/HANA experience a big plus.
- Solution Manager, EWA and transport management processes; System sizing, storage management, database management, backups and disaster recovery for SAP systems;
- Knowledge and experience with SAP upgrades including Support Packs and Enhancement Packs. Experience with project management and ITIL in a complex SAP environment.
- Expertise in SAP technologies: SAP Basis, S/4HANA, HANA DB, SOLMAN, SAP Fiori, SAP Web Dispatcher, SAP Data Services, Cloud Experience in SAP Cloud Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and other SAP SaaS solutions (Ariba, SAC).
- Proficiency in the use of Office 365 and good working knowledge of learning technologies and web conferencing applications.
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated high level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate technical and non-technical information, ideas, procedures and processes. Able to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, and with all levels of the organization; ability to work occasionally outside standard working hours to meet project and support requirements.
- Strong command of English, including excellent writing and presentation skills.
