You will lead the execution of IT Infrastructure projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi ABB Power Grids management methodology, quality standards, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. Report primarily to IT Infrastructure Regional Lead and secondly to the IT Infrastructure Portfolio & PMO team. This position is a stakeholder facing role and requires that you establish and manage expectations within the business. In addition, you will be supporting the buildup of the Hitachi ABB Power Grids IT organization in our region.

Your responsibilities

  • You will lead the IT Infrastructure or cross-functional project team, establish the project execution approach, execution planning, delivery, reporting and monitoring activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
  • You will monitor and pro-actively review the Portfolio Management demand pipeline to anticipate level of activity and inform Portfolio Lead and Regional Infrastructure Leads as to capacity and potential bottlenecks and define, jointly with Infrastructure Delivery & Performance department leads, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule, and risk management plans.
  • You will ensure that the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi ABB Power Grids policies. Execute projects focused on delivering the benefits and business case to Hitachi ABB Power Grids, utilizing the agreed project methodology (Agile etc).
  • You will effectively monitor and control project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitor and control project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow. Identify, qualify, quantify, and manage project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Capture, analyze, and share lessons learned throughout the project. Ensure that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the business.
  • You will manage assigned budget effectively and delivers activities within agreed schedules and costs. Identify cost drivers and optimization potential.
  • You will execute, for assigned tasks, all actions in IT processes according to agreed RACIS. Ensure teams adhere to IT process framework and governance model. Act as escalation point and resolve disputes arising in relation to IT business facing support and infrastructure services.
  • You will act as the key contact for the customer and the primary escalation point for project issues. Builds and maintains strong relationships with Hitachi ABB Power Grids business units within their countries as well as internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.
  • You will lead the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Coach, develop, and provide feedback regarding those individuals allocated to work on project.
  • You will take ownership of the outcomes of projects delivered, referring to both the commercial and soft benefits outlined in the project’s initial business case, and ensuring that additional benefits delivered, or benefits missed, are communicated to stakeholders and peers.

Your background

  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT Department and experience in leading IT project teams in international companies.
  • Ability to use English fluently in speaking and writing. Korean or Japanese will be beneficial.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation / PMI / Prince / Agile certification will be an advantage.
  • Expert in project planning and execution as well as on economic aspects of system management and life cycle.
  • Strong IT operations skills and good understanding of the overall context of business processes and IT technologies.
  • Ability to gather and evaluate business requirements, to work in a team and excellent organization of own work.
  • High determination and willingness to reach set goals.
