Hitachi ABB Power Grids China Transformer Technology Center (PGTR CNTC) develops world leading transformers with advanced technologies for smart grid, renewable energy, HVDC, high-speed and regional trains. Your responsibilities

  • You will develop innovative designs to meet all requirements for functionality, performance, reliability, serviceability, cost and manufacturability of traction transformer products.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional international teams to complete electrical, mechanical, simulation, prototyping, and testing.
  • You will engage in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.
  • You will support the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering department by writing design rules, preparing trainings and collaborating with design tools team.
  • You will provide punctual technical support to factories, salespeople and customers.
  • You will lead project execution.

Your background

  • A MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, alternatively bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of technical experience in electrical design of transformer.
  • Strong team leadership and teamwork with cross-functional communications and influential skills.
  • Good project management skills, track record of delivering results on time, on budget and on quality with a structured work approach.
  • Creative thinking with demonstrated analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex technical and process problems.
  • Ability to work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Fluent in English (both speaking and writing).
  • Ability to develop unique concepts/solutions for complex products and completing technical documentation.
  • Familiar with transformer design in Windmill application is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge in electrical FEM simulation (electrical, magnetic field, eddy current losses etc.).
