Become our new Renewables Application Engineer and be part of a great team within Transformers. In this role you will bring the knowledge of a senior technical specialist in front of the Customers helping to implement the HUB EUC & BU marketing strategy by deploying the full Renewables portfolio of product and service applications in different sub-segments (e.g. Solar, offshore and Onshore wind), and coordinate efforts with your peers in application engineering team to customize and support the technical discussion and value proposition. This position can be located in any of our European transformer factories.

Your responsibilities

  • The Application Engineer should ideally be an expert on aspects related to Renewables of the Hitachi Energy Transformers portfolio and product applications. She/he supports from a technical knowledge point of view the World Class Front End (WCFE) Team for the Marketing and Sales activities of the HUB and represents the interests of the GPG/BU in the given Country/Region.
  • In collaboration with the BU and HUB needs, create a yearly marketing plan and define a common market message per product line/application and carries out the marketing plan.
  • Supports and train M&S team and WCFE in Hitachi Energy Transformers portfolio of products and services for Renewables (e.g. Responsible for the HUB yearly training plan)
  • Promotes our strategy for renewables and portfolio in the region.
  • Collects Customer requirements and assess customers in the elevation of specifications.
  • Provides input to Global product management about Customer requirements, industry trends, competitors, etc.
  • She/he should cover certain markets by interacting with existing Customers as well as with “Customers we aspire to have” by providing appropriate technical support (ideally influencing technical specifications at early stage, i.e. when there is no RFQ out) while reinforcing product applications positioning.
  • Her/his contribution should bring medium-long term results as she/he will support the sales team at the pre-tender stage, through conceptual discussions aimed at: Understanding specs and norms, Squaring away doubts and misinterpretations, Influencing technical specs, Creating value propositions and Demonstrating technical leadership.
  • She/he should carry out technical meetings at early stage and organize the preliminary technical discussions with local Customers focused on specific topics to be held by her/him or more-detailed technical workshops.
  • She/he should cover assigned regional markets within the given HUB and not only the hosted country market
  • She/he needs to feed the HUB with Customer’s feedbacks as well as strategic marketing inputs to support the market analysis validation and competitive landscape, heat maps, in coordination with Global Product Marketing Managers

Your background

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in technical department (R&D, Electrical Engineering or Design) and/or Project Manager and/or Product Marketing, Sales and Business development in the assigned sector(s).
  • Your previous experience is preferably associated with transformer businesses.
  • You have strong technical skills, in addition to the marketing experience, to be able to connect the technical teams with the marketing teams in the Demand countries within the HUB.
  • There is a strong preference for a solid background in aspects related to Renewables in our industry (e.g. Offshore applications, offshore floating, Dynamic loading, biodegradable fluids, regulations).
  • You hold an engineering degree from an accredited university. A Master’s degree in B2B Marketing is an advantage.
  • Intercultural sensitiveness is required, along with good communication skills with colleagues from multinational countries for assigned region.
  • Previous global experience and a strong grasp of the English language is required. Multiple language skills are a merit.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50% of your time. We are open to candidates willing to sit at any of the European transformer factories
