As a Hotel Services Domestic Assistant, you’ll join a team who are focused on delivering impeccable customer service to our staff and service users through the use of innovation to really make our service users and staff feel the difference.
The Hotel Services Department is part of the Facilities Department which provides Domestic, Catering and Portering services covering two hospitals.
You'll be based at Paulton Memorial Hospital, working Saturday – Sunday 12 hours per weekend, 08:00 – 14:00, 6 hours a day. You may be asked to support your colleagues at both sites when required.
You will need to be a good communicator, you will be required to work with other Domestic Assistants as part of a team, and on your own sometimes, working to a daily schedule of work.
You will be required to undertake a range of cleaning duties working to National Cleaning Standards ensuring a safe clean environment for service users and clients. You will need to be flexible and responsive to meet the needs of the service.
The role is for carrying out Cleaning duties within clinical areas which include, Vacuuming, mopping, floor cleaning, damp dusting, low level dusting, high level dusting, bed cleaning, curtain changing, Infection and out-break cleans ensuring cleanliness is of a high standard. To exercise good hand and personal hygiene procedures at all times, following Covid-19, infection control and COSHH policy and procedures.
To serve/ assist with service user meals, snacks and beverages, collecting in and washing up of cutlery and crockery. Ensure food quality, quantity, temperature and waste procedures are followed.
This is just a brief outline of the duties but gives you an idea of what will be required.
You will need to have good customer service skills and be a good communicator. You will be required to work to a daily cleaning schedule using your own initiative when working alone. ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard. You will be working on a ward with other team members as well as liaising with clinical managers and staff working as a team.
You will need to have basic computer skills and be confident in using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook for reading emails, e-learning for mandatory training and course work, Intranet for knowledge of what’s happening in the organisation and what’s on offer for you as an employee.
