Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. As a Local Product Group of High Voltage Products, the High Current Systems unit is responsible for the development, sales, manufacturing, and service of generator circuit-breaker systems. You'll be a key member of the Purchasing and Logistics team in Zürich Oerlikon. Reporting to the supply chain manager, you will aid the company as a whole by ensuring that all procurement activities comply with the policies and procedures of the company.

Your responsibilities

  • Purchase equipment on behalf of the company in accordance with the required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and conditions defined
  • Negotiate agreements with the main suppliers and periodically renew the rates as well as the terms and conditions
  • Support other departments by providing relevant information of the market
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers (delivery times, quality, execution times) and solve performance problems
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with the quality and engineering specialists
  • Align supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, durability, and price
  • Be consistent with the fundamental values of security and integrity of ABB, that is, take responsibility for your own actions, while taking care of your colleagues and the company

Your background

  • Bachelor / Master in industrial engineering and management or equal
  • More than five years of experience in the field of procurement, as buyer. Experience in the field of aluminum casted parts is required
  • Experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) systems
  • Mastery of SAP and all office automation software (Office Suite)
  • Have a collaborative attitude oriented on solutions and strong communication skills
