Senior Materials Planner

Senior Materials Planner is responsible for the sourcing and procurement, order management, inventory, and supply of materials as well as products according to company needs and customer requirements. This person will ensure that supplies and inventory are ordered and accurate to meet production and shipping schedules.

What you are going to be doing…

  • Overall responsibility for supply, accuracy, and maintenance of all inventories
  • Act as primary point of contact with suppliers in conjunction with leadership
  • Manage indirect & direct spend weekly, monthly and annually to align with organizational targets
  • Work directly with leadership & peers to ensure supply chain readiness on key initiatives
  • Manage, monitor, record and publish all KPIs
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve supply chain challenges to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Develop strategic ordering cycles based on forecasts that meet business needs, providing cost savings, and adheres to lead times
  • Manage complex business relationships through excellent communication; provide exceptional service and expertise
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors to hold them accountable to a high degree of service
  • Responsible for establishing & sustaining all standardized SCM processes and programs
  • Maintains inventory levels to ensure adherence to schedule and OFR
  • Align with Project Management team on OA initiatives, supporting business growth
  • Focused on accuracy of the perpetual inventory system
  • Schedule delivery of materials and supplies to support business plan
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges
  • Manage SLOB inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of required MRP/ERP systems
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What you need to Have…

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in a materials management role
  • Supply Chain and/or Procurement accreditations preferred
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees at GDK – from the plant floor to the CEO effectively and clearly in both written and verbal situations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications and ability to learn new technologies
