Position Summary

Responsible for handling commodity nominations, confirmations, scheduling and allocations. Manages imbalances on a daily basis in accordance with contractual and system compliance. Ensures daily and monthly deadlines are met. Maintain strong internal and external customer relations based on honest timely communication and transactions.

This is an entry-level position and requires an individual who is still learning to apply the theoretical or professional concepts or techniques of the field. This job contributes to the completion of projects and performs relatively standard processes and tasks. Develops solutions to routine problems with a finite scope. Performs limited use or application of technical standards, principles, theories concepts and techniques. Participates in more complex projects and tasks with guidance and direction from supervisor or more senior professionals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform nomination, confirmation and scheduling functions in accordance with contracts and regulations.
  • Manage customer relations / customer service.
  • Assist with basic system testing on projects or system issues.
  • Manage applicable commodity imbalances. 
  • Assist with customer training materials for applicable system software.
  • Execute Monthly Close processes timely to meet accounting deadlines.
  • Provide information for internal and external audits, including FERC and SOX.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. In lieu of a degree, six (6) years' related experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to learn and understand pipeline EBBs and cycle times.
  • Ability to learn and understand contractual types of service, contract terms and obligations, and pipeline tariffs.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide accurate and timely information under strict time constraints.
  • Analytical skills; ability to solve a range of straightforward problems, analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive and positive working relationships with internal clients and external customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks, respond well to changing priorities, pay attention to detail and demonstrate quality time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Skills in computer applications, databases and reporting software (Microsoft Office Suite applications).
  • Demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, company’s ethics code of conduct and other company policies and procedures.
  • Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for objects or people who may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and active listening when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours, including On-Call, working remotely, weekends and holidays, as required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to work or field locations, and/or to attend meetings or training, including overnight stays.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
