We are looking for a (senior) research scientist with industry experience in e-mobility to explore next generation charging concepts at our research center in Baden/CH.

Your responsibilities

• Industrial research in the area of electric vehicle charging infrastructure with focus on megawatt-scale solutions for electric road vehicles, trains and ships
• Explore new technologies and techno-economically benchmark with existing solutions while keeping a holistic view on all hardware components from the grid connection down to the charging pole
• Collaborate with our digital experts on smart charging and advanced fleet management schemes
• Build up and drive a global research community around the topic of EV charging infrastructure in collaboration with colleagues from different disciplines
• Establish a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise
• Propose, contribute to or lead co-creative research projects together with our Hitachi Energy business units and research centers, external universities, and industrial partners
• Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports

Your background

• 2+ years of industry experience in the area of electric vehicle charging infrastructure
• PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
• Project management, people- or technical leadership experience
• Proven track record in science or in industry
• Passion to work on technical solutions that will shape the mobility of the future
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity
• Broad understanding of different aspects and subsystems of EV charging infrastructure
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
