We are searching you as an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Specialist (m/f/d) for our location in Roigheim, Germany. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a strong knowledge of safety in manufacturing environment, as well as being competent and experienced in other risk areas such as work at height, road safety, machine safety, contractor work etc. You will be able to provide authoritative technical and legal HSE advice within the Insulation & Components business. Your responsibilities

  • Being a leading HSE function in our daily practices
  • Serve as a technical reference point for safety issues across the manufacturing location
  • Empowering the team to understand obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles in accordance with local HSE laws, customer requirements, company policies and standards
  • Engaging internal and external stakeholders and cooperating with other functions to raise awareness and gain commitment to HSE objectives and progress including the corresponding reporting on our KPIs
  • Conduct on-site inspections and audits
  • Identify opportunities for HSE improvement in the businesses; identify appropriate actions and work with the business to implement those actions
  • Execute specific HSE projects
  • Delivers and deploys HSE trainings at all levels
  • Carry out risk assessments
  • Targeting and investigating HSE incidents, gathering feedback and communicating lessons learned and best practices to the business
  • Preparation of safety plans
  • Provide general safety advice to the management teams, supervisors, and their teams

Your background

  • Completed education with the background of construction engineering, electrical engineering or completed training as safety specialist combined with extended practical experience
  • Health, Safety and Environmental specialization: Process Safety, Project Safety, Electrical Safety, Environmental Sustainability, Health and Hygiene
  • Minimum of 5 years HSE experience, preferably in a multinational company in a sector similar to Hitachi ABB Power Grid’s, involving manufacturing activities
  • Experience of performing audits
  • Expertise in setting up HSE management systems as well its implementation
  • Strong written and verbal Germany and English communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and influence widely varying audiences from senior managers to service engineers and machine operators
