In the role as HSE Specialist (m/f/d) you will contribute to improving HSE performance within Power Grid Quality Solutions (GPQS), a business unit within Hitachi Power Grids. Your responsibilities

  • Being a leading HSE function in our projects in daily practices
  • Supporting tenders and any specific HSE programs run in the company
  • Contribute to the improvement of the internal process landscape based on agile and digital approaches for a holistic HSE system
  • Empowering the team to understand obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles in accordance with local HSE laws, customer requirements, company policies and standards
  • Engaging internal and external stakeholders and cooperating with other functions to raise awareness and gain commitment to HSE objectives and progress including the corresponding reporting on our KPIs
  • Targeting and investigating HSE incidents, gathering feedback and communicating lessons learned and best practices to the business
  • Living our core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

Your background

  • Completed education with the background of construction engineering, electrical engineering or completed training as safety specialist combined with extended practical experience
  • Minimum of 5 years HSE experience
  • HSE experience from infrastructure projects including construction site experience
  • Expertise in setting up HSE management systems as well its implementation in projects and on construction sites
  • Knowledge of construction, installation and commissioning processes
  • Good background of work-related electrical safety for low, medium and high voltage level<
  • Skills in environmental management
  • Experience of performing audits
  • Ability to manage complex issues as well work with cross-functional and international teams
  • Behavior-related occupational safety is a central value for you
  • Teamwork, cooperation, analytical thinking and critical questioning characterize your daily work
  • Open communication style at eye, ability to motivate others positively as well as solve critical situations and conflicts
  • Willingnes to travel
  • German and English fluent in written and spoken
