We are looking for a qualified and experienced Sales & Marketing Champion for the Power Quality segment to join our high-caliber Grid Integration Sales & Marketing team. The position involves close interaction with T&D Utility customers, EPC Contractors and local Hitachi ABB Power Grids units mainly in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden. The candidate we are looking for has a clear flair for sales, is highly motivated with an outgoing personality and has the experience and ability to promote & position our Power Quality Systems and respective Service Solutions in these markets. Your responsibilities

  • Create, plan and implement the local Sales & Marketing strategy for the Grid and Power Quality Solutions business in accordance with Regional and Global Sales and Marketing strategy, budget and efficiency targets
  • Responsibility for developing and managing your allocated Market Segment for Power Quality/FACTS Solutions in order to maximize orders received together with the Global Center of Competence
  • Drive evaluation of potential new and existing customers and their needs
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationship with key players in the allocated market – e.g. End Customers, EPCs, Local Sales teams – and assure customer satisfaction by running customer surveys, analyzing the results and taking adequate actions
  • Gather market information to ensure updated market knowledge for planning and implementing appropriate market strategies
  • Lead contract negotiations with customers on technical & commercial aspects with the support of project management, legal & commercial experts if needed
  • Coordinate and implement together with Product Managers, the introduction of new technology/systems in the markets

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Industrial Engineering combined with at least 5 years’ experience in sales and business development of complex industrial plant business or similar industrial environment
  • Deep understanding of Power Grids, phases of go-to-market and its way of distribution with focus on mission critical applications preferred
  • Mind for identifying new business opportunities, great intercultural skills combined with a diplomatic way of negotiating and closing business deals
  • Fluency in German and English is mandatory, French or Swedish would be considered as advantage
  • Willingness to travel as part of business assignments (up to 30%)
  • Flexibility and interest in working within an international team
