SUMMARY:

The inventory control manager responsibilities comprise managing, controlling as well as monitoring the activities related to inventory management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Work with Mira Loma Distribution Center leadership and corporate finance leadership to define goals/objectives of the inventory control function
  • Design and implement inventory control practices, processes, and projects that improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, accounting accuracy, and financial performance
  • Effectively communicate inventory control KPIs, activities underway to improve performance, and risks/opportunities to senior leadership across the Boardriders organization
  • Hire and train Inventory Control staff
  • Oversee the job assignments and activities of Inventory Control staff
  • Collaborate with warehouse managers to provide performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify and summarize opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, accounting accuracy, and financial performance across Boardriders’ Mira Loma distribution center
  • Define, measure, and track KPIs related to inventory accuracy and how it is impacts warehouse performance
  • Design and implement best-in-class inventory control practices and processes (including cycle counting, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation) across the warehouse – hold accountability for effective implementation
  • Execute daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Oversee stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
  • Locate items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
  • Communicates with planning and operations departmenrs as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
  • Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • At least five years of experience in related area required.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
  • Experience driving significant improvements in inventory control performance in a complex operational environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills (and general computer efficiency)
  • Experience with SAP and warehouse management system software strongly preferred
